I got my eggs today from Hot2Pot and BHep! There was one crack in the RIR eggs that I think I'm still going to try to hatch just to see what happens. I set one of my own eggs that had a slight crack and it did ok. There was another one in there that was smooshed... but the other 6 are beautiful and already in the incubator!
And BHep - I seriously did a little egg dance when I set those Lav. Orps! I'm so excited about them!

And those OE's are beautiful eggs... I don't have any of them yet either! What will a Lav x Buff cross give me?

I've come to realize that a full incubator = a happy momma!

Well I will do a happy dance when they hatch.... you are the 1st person to get them and incubate them, we have eaten plenty.

I have seen the bulls eyes. Jim will be getting them next.

I already put my two cent in. Hope we see the auctions back close to what they were before the change over. Does anyone know if the auctions were discussed before the change over? Gosh, with as much talk that is going on about it now it would have been nice to have a heads up and discussion beforehand.

I don't know if a lot of people do it, BUT I put a tiny drop of clear finger nail polish on the crack and everything was fine. My chicken hatched like normal.

I use wax dropped from a candle on small cracks. I got eggs from Sonew today, one was too damaged to save. But the others look ok. What breed are they? Lovely eggs. Hope they hatch. Thanks!

I've found some of the silkies can be treated like everyone else and some are more fragile. I have my current batch of chicks in a tub in the living room because they can't handle the temperature fluctuations. These are the smallest I have got. They can also be a bit dense and may need to be reminded where the food and water is. They need at least twice as long before they go outside.

Im sorry...those are my project meat bird eggs....silver laced brahma roo over maran girls...the chicks come out huge and feathered heavily but since the brahmas grow huge...with huge breasts with cx in their distant past breeding...i used that roo...brahmas take forever to grow...so i crossed them with my maran girls to speed up growth and hope to have birds ready for processing by 16 weeks..freeranging 8 lbs? That is what im shooting for...ill hatch a bunch of these out in Spring and hope to have a freezer full by Fall...some folks on here already hatched some and shellyga got some last week too
