NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your making me think my others are BANTAMS. Holy cow. That chicken is only 3 1/2 months old? I was hoping my Jersey Giants get this big. Thanks for posting. You adorable son looks pretty happy with that awesome chicken. He should be proud.
202roosterlane - thought you might like to see a picture of one of your chicks 3-1/2 month old brothers. His name is Peepster - named by my son, the more handsome boy in the pic!

Wow, great pictures today! That little silkie on the right is too cute. I cannot believe the size of that BR at 3 1/2 months! I thought my Buckeyes and one EE were huge, but that one is massive!

Updated swap page with clothing items today. If you have questions or need more pics, let me know.

I locked down my eggs yesterday. They are due to hatch Monday. I have 4 Silkies (out of 6) from EMVickrey, and 4 (out of 4) of my d'Uccles.

Your gonna love Emvickrey's silkies! They are so sweet and hearty! I haven't had good luck with silkies in the past but, knock wood, these from the swap are thriving!

That is a lotta rooster! And a handsome boy to boot!

please. Updated my swap page.....I can't wait to swap again. I have been side swapping for three days. Think I will go to Pier one tomorrow and by some goodies for the swap. I'm running out. Told my husband I was gonna start posting his motorcycle parts.

That did not go over too well but he knew I was teasing. (He has to sleep sometime...bahahahaha)

So all day I've been trying to make a decision. Cull or wait. One of the cockerels from my first ever hatch has come up badly lame. I've had him confined for 5 days with no improvement. There is no obvious break, I think it's in his hip or spine. Such a nice boy, very mellow and friendly. He is one of BHeps EEs.

I know what I have to do, just so hard to say goodbye to Rumpless Ralph

on a much happier note, Hubby fixed the truck. He's much easier to live with now

Always a hard choice.

If they do not seem to be in pain I let them live, but it can be hard to tell. Its heartbreaking when that happens. They are so much work and cannot keep up with the others, and often get picked on they become attached and dependent on their humans. Sometimes its the humane thing to do, and sometimes we just have to wait it out until we are sure of the right thing to do. Whatever you decide is the correct choice.

Reese - here are the two "unexpected" cochins that hatched a couple of weeks ago. If I were to feather sex from this age I would say the blue is boy and the barred girl.

i have one that hatched today, looks like it will be some form of barred as it has the big head spot, it's black but has a weird color tone around the face??? Will take pics in a few days.
