My Smooth Robbie crowed this morning

and he is trying to woo the girls by pretending to find food to lure them close LOL His coloring is changing, he now has honey colored high lights. So gorgeous. If I were to ever have a house chicken - Robbie would be the one. (horrible pic, he was not thrilled with me interrupting his courting)

Yep, what BHep said LOL I got the hatching eggs from her. Can you tell he is my favorite bird?

Day 7 on incubation of eggs from many of you. I candled and have terrific development on most, but one batch that I suspect got near freezing while in shipment doesn't look good

of course it is a breed I was really wanting. Beth - 4 out of 4 ducks are developing. DD is super excited, she is making plans to swim with them in the pond this summer

I forgot to tell you......... I hatched my first Sizzle of the year. Black Silkie rooster x black sizzle hens......... YUP I hatched a blue

Last year, I had the hens with the Splash rooster and only hatched black....... Go Figure !!!

Everyone else got the blues.

LOL you need to breed the opposite color to what you want!

I found a lady in KC who is going to take my blind silkie cockerel. I'm so happy to rehome and not have to cull him. She has a small mixed flock and will be able to spoil him as he needs. I hope her pullets let him breed - he wants to so bad
