I got my Runner Duck eggs from MiMis_Place yesterday (side swap) - all 12 of them in perfect condition! She only put them in the mail on Monday afternoon!!!

She must have sent them by rocket-ship!!

I got a call at 11 something yesterday morning ( I was dead asleep after working the mid) and my PO lady tells me a package for me has been left at the PO in a neighboring town. She says it has "Live Embryos" written on it and thought I would like to know. (the joys of living in a small town!) She told me if I would give her until after lunch, she would get the package to our PO and I could come pick it up. I love my local PO!


On the yard sale note, I keep meaning to hold a yard sale every year. We have a piece of property on US 127. Any of you guys ever heard of the 127 Yard Sale? (Google it) It is the longest yard sale in the world. It is usually the first or second weekend in August and runs from at least Ohio to Alabama, maybe farther these days. It has been featured on HGTV. It is an absolute madhouse! I haven't had the time to set up for it yet - maybe this year. Y'all can come visit me and camp out on our property if you want. Bring your trailers filled with stuff to sell and fill it with stuff you buy when you leave!

No self-respecting yard-saler should miss it!

And 127 goes through Greenville, about 5 miles past my house too! It is great fun!!!
I would come, KYtinpusher, depending which weekend it is, but I think I am going to have to miss it this year. We have a family reunion in NW Illinois (the very NW corner) from July 29-August 1. We have this reunion every two years in a different state. It is held in MI, OH, PA, CO, IA, and probably MD sometime. It is such a fun reunion, that I hate to miss it! We have an auction to raise money to pay for the next reunion and everyone brings items to donate. Geez I miss being here everyday! A few more days and I should be able to breathe and play more. Hope everyone is well.

Update on hatch ~ 13 new babies

from Beth I got a Dark Brahma; a Sizzle chick (Jacob Black chick that is darn near silver in color); and a Frizzled Cochin. 4 ducks eggs went into lockdown today - a bit concerned on these but 2 appear alive.

I bought some Polish from Hot2Pot of those 10 of 14 hatched!! What an awesome hatch rate. Am a bit confused on what colors they will turn out to be, but they are so nice and the little crest is hilarious. There are yellow (buff, I think), black, white crested black and one that I swear is a white crested blue. Polish are the funniest little buggers, I'm thrilled to have them.

so not bad for all the problems I had with the storm. I'm tickled any lived.
