Everything has been super quiet lately, huh?

Been busier than a one-armed paper hanger between work and rebuilding a coop, and hatching chicks, and I have quail eggs in the bator. I still owe some of you some daffodil bulbs. We have had rain on and off for a week now so I can probably dig them up out of the ground tomorrow. Being TN there is a lot of clay (not as bad as GA but bad enough). When it is dry it is almost as hard as concrete.

Busy here too but still have eggs to get sold. It seems that the garden is a never ending job with canning and freezing. The tomatos are finally dying out. They sure are alot of work. We have enough okra to do us till next year this time. My family has managed to keep up with me with eating the salsa dip I've made. I told them one more batch and no more. I've spent the better of the evening till now getting veggies ready to can and freeze and I still have tomatos in a storage tote I have to put up too. When winter gets here it will be meat to put up if we don't take it to have it processed. It's already squirrel season here and my grandson has brought home several. Strange that they have been all boys. I guess we have an over population of boys on our land.

I still have eggs for sale. I've started the auctions out low but nobody seens to be interested in what I have. It's what I don't have that they want. Only 1 sizzle hen is laying right now and people want sizzles. I have porcelains and splash eggs.

I want your eggs. Lol I was watching the auctions and was thinking about bidding. Right now is tough. My two oldest kids went to school a week ago. This is their first time in public school. We have always home schooled. It has pulled the rug out from under us. Now I don't have any one to help me I have my two youngest at home. The five year old likes to help, but is limited and I have an infant. Anyway, I hope to get some from you soon.

We raise our grandsons and the school system has a strict dressing code which the kids have to wear Polo's and restrictions on the pants they can wear also. That and the county fair is always during the week they start school. It's always hard in August for us so I know what you mean.

I am answering you here so I don't clutter the swap thread.
It used to get so crazy! 24 hours a day. No sleeping allowed lol. As soon as you walked away, you would missed something you were waiting on.

I know. I used to miss swaps all the time. It was fun really noe it's gotten so slow I sont spend much time here. Even selling eggs is slow. I had to resort to selling on ebay which I don't like to do but I have to sell the eggs if I want to keep up my chickens with food and everything else they need. I love my chickens and I feel most of them have feelings for me. People say chickens are dumb. Granted I"ve had the ocassional dumb one but they have personalities like any living creature and are very enjoyable but alot of work. I'm really dreading this winter. Rumor has it that we are going to have the worst winter since 100 years ago. Last winter was a doozy. I know others had it much worse than we did but for us it was bad.
I hope the swap page picks back up soon so maybe I can find some good Christmas gifts. lol

We sure did. I claimed so much chicken related items I filled up a China cabinet and donated several items to auction off to raise money for our local poultry club. I could use another china cabinet or large display case so I can fill it up too. lol
