I've got the Little Giant incubator from TSC and I think it is overpriced and not very controlled. If I were you, I would try a homemade one or borrow one if possible. Then when you can't stop hatching, get a really nice one. And here I am hatching again after I said I would use the Little Junker again.

Sonew: I wouldn't count them all dead yet. When my dogs chased my guineas off I thought they were all dead but they came back 2 days later. Same with my chickens. I would say if they don't come back within 2 days then you could rule them as dead. They could all be just really scared and hiding. Lets just hope that is the case. I wish you best of luck on finding them. I am sorry this happened.

Dh called and found more bodies in a far off spot-cold ...so they had to have been killed last night-4 more to go to find I want to find them all alive but I really want to find my Judge Judy alive-WCB polish hen-had her since I hatched her 3 years ago and I love her to no end

She was in Adirondack Life magazine last year

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. To some people they may be "just chickens", but we know better. I hope you figure out how it happened and are able to move forward with your life. Glad you have a plan if you find the culprit - well thought out too. Thoughts are with you and your family.

Don't you wish the dog owners could read posts like this and see that our babies aren't disposable yard ornaments?!?

The bad thing is, there's still some irresponsible owners that just wouldn't get it. You know if you changed the word chickens to puppies, there would be an outrage.

Definitely keep looking! Sending extra good luck vibes to find Judge Judy alive and well!!!!

on a side note!

Today before my man left for lobster fishing my little boy was in the chicken pen while i was butchering quail in the front and left the door open when he went out. My man went back their and saw a bunch of babies runing round back there. They started rounding them up and I got back their bout the time he got to the back of the fence that borders our neighbors yard and their was a GOOD SIZED mocassin halfway through the chicken fence striking at my babies! I got the shovel and ran over their and he killed him. No loses, Thank goodness!!! I hate snakes this time of year! we have a huge feild with two spring fed ponds behind out house so mocassins are coming out now.
