I need a cell phone....I'll get a new one in about 8 months when our contract is up but meanwhile I am using one that is so old it has an antenna that I have to pull up! Anyone have one sitting in a box somewhere that you'd be willing to trade for some of my handmade homestead-style goat's milk soap? Made from fresh-squeezed goat's milk! And all the oils are food grade. No artificial scents or coloring agents. Just soap.

I do have some batches curing that are also all natural.....coffee/chocolate milk, honey & oatmeal & milk, and pine tar & goat's milk. The pine tar is the only non-edible ingredient.

so on a random note, I was wiring a computer fan up to go into the incubator and i looked up instructions online and found a website that had instructions for the wiring, the fan was being used for....a concealed indoor greenhouse....long story short, don't take wiring advice from a stoner, i ended up frying the fan. Its just as well, it didn't look like it had enough power to it, i might look for one of those little osculating fans.

i'm still not feeling well, but gotten the bantams secured up so they won't drown in all this rain. the big girls are mad cause they cant go outside.

IRENE is hitting us today with torrential down pours. the bantam barn has a pond around it

my driveway is flooded and powers flickered on and off already a few times.

we are under a flash flood warning.

i have 2 incubators full of eggs due the 1st and 12th of sept so praying the power dont go out.

i am on my 2nd loaf of bread in the bread maker today. and going to try to make some zuke/carrot bread for later.

i am sorting things so i can add to my list of trades

Hope everyone is safe that is in the path of Irene

My BLRW's are just standing there in the pouring rain!!! They can go right into their coop to stay dry but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..They look like drowned rats!

I found a very small 4" fan that was pretty sturdy (made out of metal) at Walmart. I had to take the grating off and bent the blades a little so it didn't blow so hard, just moved the air. It works great and is 110 v. I had the same problem with the computer fan, the transformer voltage must have been to high and burnt it up bad!!!

All i heard was a sizzle and saw a puff of smoke...poor little fan, made it all the way from china in the saddest looking mailer you've ever seen, just to be melted down, lol.

Countryuppiechick, I'm interested in knowing more about the phones you pm'd me about but your inbox is full! Send me more details if you would, please!

So I got my cast iron pans right before we left and they're fabulous. They're going to be part of my mums bday present. We're in Vegas for the VMware conference. I'm a little taken aback by our hotel room. We're in a 1500 sq ft 2bed Corner PH suite in the MGM Grand Signature right off the strip. The view is amazing. The room is amazing. I'm not really a gambler unless I can sit at tables but the dining and people watching are top notch though I'll be cooking most of the time. Pretty great so far.

Heather,
The first OE has hatched. Another is pipping. They weren't supposed to hatch until tomorrow. I also have Silkies and Sizzles hatching a day early from Edna.
