Coturnix update...so far 19 / 32 hatched, 2 more zipping. Haven't had to help any yet, these last 2 are going much more slowly than the rest, so....
just eggcited about all the fluffy little popcorn balls in the brooder
Debi, Sorry, I did not get the syrups in the mail today. Saturday night, DH dropped the lid to the cast iron dutch oven on his toe while I was out. When I got home, he had gone from the macho "I don't need to go to the hospital" to "Let's ask your mom when she gets home" to "I better go to the hospital, now" We went to the wrong hospital first...two hospitals merged, leaving only one ER, naturally at the other hospital. Spent hours there getting his toe sewn up. The bone had been exposed, so there was a risk of infection. But good news was coming home to incubator full of quail. I stayed up all night Sunday baking bread and watching quail hatch, trying to keep them from wandering away from the heat in the brooder and freezing to death. Today, had to get DH to DR, DH#! to work, DS#2 to diferent DR, and pick up DS#3 from soccer practice...all at least 20 miles from home all in different directions, all at almost the same time. Fortunately, macho kicked back in, DH drove himself to DR and DS#1 to work...no bone infection, just no going to work (truck driver) until at least Thursday. Fun Fun Fun
Tomorrow should be a bit less hectic
