WHAT YA GOT SWAP Chat Thread

In my opinion this is a swap.

I have taken home baked yummy bread and the next person in line took a brand new jacket from me.

Is that a fair trade??? YES. I know what I have on my swap page and how much it will cost me to ship. It is either homemade jams or things I have never worn.

And I take a swap because "I" want it. I can see if you are doing side trades then it is a little more equal. Otherwise you are taking what you want, and the next person is taking what they want. It seems fair to me.

Now I don't swap as much as I would like because frankly their is too much chattering on the swap page for me to deal with.

I dont have time to dig through pages to find what is being swapped and sometimes it is so muddled I cant figure it out.

I'm a little slow sometimes.

Anyway Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone, everyone be safe and enjoy your friends and family.

I am content with what is being offered up. Most of the stuff I accept I can't find around me. Price doesn't matter to me.

Maybejoey: No way....

I just paid for a subscription of magazines I don't want. It didn't say that anywhere I wouldn't get the poultry ones

. Also I owe you an apology I was just at Rural King and saw one of the exact magazines for $10.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

I also wanted to jump in with my 2 cents. I agree that the value of the swap is in the eye of the beholder. Someone may offer a $50 necklace (or whatever), but if nobody wants it, it isn't worth anything. On the other hand, someone may offer a bag of beautiful fall leaves for crafting that cost no more than ten minutes time to collect, but if 10 people want them, they are worth quite a bit. However, one thing I was thinking about to help from stalling the thread is a time limit - you have, for arguments sake, say 12 or 24 hours to get someone to accept your swap or your claim is rescinded and it goes back to the previous offer. Everyone would have to be on their toes to offer something that another swapper wanted or risk losing out on what they claimed. That way the thread is not stalled for too long. As I said, just my 2 cents.

Again, Merry, Merry Christmas to ALL!

OOOh Thats a good idea I like the 12 hour limit:) Also, after Xmas Im sure Ill have tons of new stuff to put on my swap page--I can also combine on my page within reason for 1 swap:)

I haven't swaped in a while, so maybe I shouldn't be giving my opion, but I think the swap is going so well. The fact is I think everyone is having fun and we all have met new friends. I don't see why we shouldn't just leave it alone. All the threads get stalled sometimes, but they always pick back up. I think if we have so many rules and regulation we will just turn new people off and ruin it for everyone that already particpates. That is my 2 cents

I think those would be swappable, just remember to read the first post, you have to be a BYC member for 3 months, I believe. You could do side swaps though, usually requiring your package to be delivered before the other person sends theirs, just so everything turns out okay, since you're new.
