Okay, after doing a little digging, I'd love to know if those 5 patients worked for a company that spread poultry litter in AR. Seems there are publications documenting the use of it around the state. I'd wager that these poor folks going blind worked for the same or similar fertilizer companies, and were NOT backyard chickeners. She grabbed a bit of info and ran with it, wanting to eliminate Pauletta's dear sweet chickens.

ps I guess I should go to work now at my real job, not my pretend investigative one. See ya.

U could probably do a better investagation !!!

I just did spring cleaning in my barn again yesterday. I have to do it 2 times a year because of all the dust that comes off of the pine shavings. I have a lot of chicken wire in my barn and all the dust turns into dust webs. Yuck.

When we build a new barn I told hubby no chicken wire except a very small window with it. And no gaps in the wood. That way it has little places to gather. You would think my barn was ready for Halloween. It gets bad. I am gonna have to start doing it more than 2 times a year.

My NPIP lady is coming out Friday to Re-certify me for the year.

my daughter is going to do a project with chickens for a science fair- on egg development and chick development.

does any one have one of those posters with the egg development? and maybe someone has chicken books or magazines articles that you can copy and send me some articles from?

I only have a couple magazines.

You can print some helpful stuff off the Internet. Google "chicken egg development"

Well last night I started a thread to find out more info. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...n-cause-blindness-in-humans/0_40#post_8585188
and I only say this because I love ya'll like family and we should be be informed in take it for what it's worth. To each of it may mean something differently. I admit I don't always (almost never) wear a mask when sweeping out the coop. I will from now on. So there was one good thing that can from all this drama. The input from other BYC member's on the above thread was really interesting. We have some great detectives and educators out there. My husband said, " See if that dog would not have come and peed in our garage, you might be going blind from that "spores in chicken litter disease". He could not remember the name, which made it funnier.

Have a HAPPY, SUNNY, SPORE FREE DAY and let's do some swapping
