We have something picking off our Siapans and yard mixes. I am thinking Opossum, but it could be a Coyote. I'm hoping Opossum, so it will be easier to take him out. It leaves nothing but feathers and blood.
Thankfully you got him before he did too much damage. Think there might be anymore lurking around?

Last year I got 4 or 5 coons and the dogs got one and some ground hogs. This year so far I got 2 possums. I guess I better get the trap out again.

Thanks Jim! There were about 15 chickens in that coop. I am lucky I only lost 2. Their run is 1x2" welded wire over PVC. It actually broke the welds on about a foot of wire. It was a female but I didn't see any babies in the pouch. I never looked to see what the 1st one was.

What is included in Meal Worm Starter? I raise meal worms and can add them to my page, but want to be sure I do it right. Meal worms, larvae, beetles and bran?

For my meal worm starter I got from cjwaldon I got mealworms and Bran.

From you I got mealworms, Beetles, Larvae & bran.

So I guess it is really up to the person. But I thank you much for the starter you sent me. I see it takes 3 months once the larvae hatches to get adult size then you have to wait for the adult meal worms to turn to beetles. So I really appreciate the setup you gave me. Helps move things along faster.

Either way bot setups/starter sets work great for anyone interested in raising there own.

2 of them were offered this week and I snagged them both. I am done now I got my setup. Once mine get going I will offer some too. I like to share.

I just found a website where I can order 1,000 for $23.99 shipping included. I may be tempted.

My chickens, Ducks & Guineas will be very happy.

lol He's not a pain.) They really are hard to get your hands on. Unless you want to get hatchery chicks that are not of good blood. Most of the hatchery chicks do not make it and your stuck with loss of money and time. You guys must have the patience of a saint b/c game birds are meanyheads! Ours pinch and flog and are just down right boogers! If they wern't so expensive I'd have eaten them long ago! (well that and my DH would be pretty put out...lol) I just wish they laid better. I could totally fund my whole chicken fetish off of Siapan eggs or chicks. LOL There is a guy in Soddy that gets 85.00 to 100.00 a chicken, from his Siapans. He gets 200.00 a dozen for his eggs, and 20.00 per chick.

Loook what we woke up to in the bator this morning , Nothing was due to hatch till tammrow night I set the eggs saterday night the 2nd of june so unless im counting wrong
