Well we didn't get out of the storms as well as we thought, dh went out to the farm in the afternoon to find one of the barns "exploded" into the soybean and wheat fields. Luckily no one got hurt and the wheat was just harvested last week. We will have to pick up tons of rubble from the fields.

We were just negotiating the sale of the wood in that barn since it was all hand hewn and built in the 1800's. I had big chicken plans for some of that money.

hopefully some of the wood will be salvageable and luckily it went into the field and not the road or the 2 houses across the street.
I saw on the news about the terrible storms that went through several areas yesterday. Glad no one was hurt and hopefully some of the wood can still be sold. That old barn wood is a wanted items these days.

Supposed to be getting sever weather tonight. Sky is already looking pretty bad out. Supposed to be heavy rain and tornadoes. Looks like we may be spending a lot of time in the basement tonight.

I'll get it after you. We just caught the northern tip of it last night. Good Luck!

Thinking good thoughts for all of you in the storm paths tonight. ( well and later too, but tonight especially.)
And all your turkey eggs are belonging to me, kkthx!!

On a brighter note, I had a lady today who came to pick up some silkies chicks, and mentioned she had a 2 year old that wanted little tiny chickens. So I showed her my little failure to thrive chick, that is 4 weeks old and still has all her baby fluff. ( I should post a pick. She is a tiny, tiny showgirl that I have been hoping to find a cover coop home for with only silkies so she doesn't get overwhelmed when they get bigger. I offered to add her into their order if they wanted her, and they were so happy.

FTT will have a happy home next week!

Its funny, I've had a few of these chicks that just grow sooooo slowly, and as long as you give them a little extra attention they seem to do just fine, if small. (This is the smallest one I've had however.) I've heard about people having to put them down or cull them, but since most of the chicks I sell are more pets then anything else, people seem to love these guys the mostest.

I just found this recipe for homemade gro gel. Does anyone else have one?

"Okay you have to taste it to determine the sweetness. Everything is human grade. I make it with 2 boxes of Gelatin

Unflavored Gelatin

Scoop of protein powder

sugar (sweet but not to sweet, kinda like weak sweet ice tea )

B vit liquid ( dosage from box)

Green food coloring (to proper color, to get the babies attention)

Now depending on quantity will determine amount of product made
"

So I had that inspection today and wouldn't you know it, some chicks pipped 2 hours before the inspection! The chick that just hatched politely waited until the inspection was over though, and the incubator went unnoticed. I wasn't really trying to hide it, I just didn't want the owner to indeed think the rumors were true and I raise chickens in the house when I don't. These chicks will shortly be moved to the garage.
The home owner was impressed with my ridiculously clean house, (not bragging, though our house isnt trashed we cleaned like crazy people for this inspection to make sure it was cleaner than normal,) and the chicken coop. All is well again.
Now I finally have time to put that swap page together? :D

Well here is the aftermath of the storm from last night. Not very happy....... I moved my trailblazer and not my car. If I wouldn't have moved my trailblazer it would have got both the car and my trailblazer. Also took the big huge door off of my neighboors big barn. There glass all over inside my car. Front seat, dash board, back seat. This is gonna cost a fortune to fix. I don't have full coverage.
