All I have are 2 chicks. I hatched out 2 partridge silkies and 1 sizzle. They all 3 looked so much alike I don't know which it was that I culled due to a leg issue. I think the other two may have dislocated it. But anyway these are about 2 weeks old now. They could both be partridge silkie and could be one of each. Our temps are cooler this week so it would be better to ship them now. But it also depends on where you are. It has to be decent temps on both ends. I think we have talked about this in PM's. I have some porcelain and buff eggs in the incubator now and the 2 porcelains are suppose to hatch on the21st and the others on the 30th. My last setting of buffs where clears. I'm hoping these are fertile. It could be because they need plucking and a show's coming up and I don't want to pluck them right now. Anyway if you'd like to have the 2 and your temps aren't too high PM me and we'll talk.
Pm'd you!

If you can find the ORIGINAL Dawn Dish Soap - not the new, improved, scented, etc., but the original blue Dawn, wash your dog in it, leave it on for 5 minutes or so, and rinse as usual. this stuff kills fleas. Don't ask me why, it just does.

X2 It's all I use to bathe the dogs with. It really does work. I had a white chihuahua that I could see fleas on her and I would dip my finger in a dish of dawn and a little water and just touch the fleas and they died instantly. The only other dog shampoo I use is the whitening kind but I still wash them in the Dawn first then the whitening shampoo.

On another subject I need to sell some eggs. Not many of the girls are laying right now so I can't do anymore than 6 at a time but the JB and BW are still laying and can do 25 of the JB's and 8 of the BW at a time. The silkies laying are from the black pen and splash pen. They are both SQ silkies. I'm asking $33 incl shipping on the silkies, $25 incl shipping on the JB's and $18 incl shipping on the BW. It'll be a few days before I'll have enough of the BW and silkies to ship them but I have 2 sets of the JB's that are ready to ship. I also have this posted in the 24 hour auction thread.

Glad to hear from you Marie. I was going to PM you today if you had not posted. I don't watch the news enough to know how you fair in our last storm. Good to see you guys did not blow away.

Watch out, though, there is one headed your way as I type. We are getting hammered by the works. Keeping my fingers crossed that nothing happens.

I went to check on my started pullets this morning, and thought it was a little odd that four of them were out roaming through my garden. When I looked at their coop, I found three dead pullets... my only Sicilian Buttercup and two Welsummers. Something chewed a hole through the mesh and got them. It was horrendous... it literally shredded them, eating their guts and skinning their necks. I am horrified. I can't find it in me to cry cause I'm just so dang mad. I can't find any tracks around their pen so I have no idea what did it. I am furiously drawing up plans for a new coop because this can't happen again, and I'm probably going to spend way more money than I should, but that's just how it's going to be. I left the coop door open to my big chickens and nothing touched them, it must have only been after the little ones.

Ugh... my heart has sunken to the pit of my stomach.

I have a question. My jumbo brown quail are about 3 weeks old and my big chicks are about 2 1/2 wees old . I have them sleeping in a big rummbermaid bucket with most the top cut out and replaced with wire mesh. My house with AC on is between 77-78 and when I turn it off its between 78-86 . When they are in the play pen they have spots of sunshine that they like to lay in some times but other then that they dont seem cold even in the evening. So I havent put them under a light any more starting about 2 days ago. They are in the dinning room and there are 3 tubs of other chicks that have a light so that room is usually 78-80 . Even though they dont seem cold could I be hutring them not haveing them under a light anymore?
