I don't mind them going to church in school. I actually like it kind of. Just because I can't take all 4 of my kids in church they wouldn't sit still. There are a few teachers at our school that I just love. But there are a few that I would like to smack too. My husband and I witnessed the Lunch lady screaming at my 9yr old daughter on tack and field day and she cam crying to us. My husband went up to her and asked how she felt about herself after degrating a 9yr old child like that.

I have walked in on a couple of teachers mistreating my daughter. They just yank her around by her arm like she is a rag doll and there is nothing I can do about it. My daughter comes home to me on a daily basis crying saying that the teacher was mean to her. I have complained to the school board and the principal but I don't want to cause a stink.

My kids are on medicaid and have had testing done. I haven't had the dislexia testing done yet. I have been trying to figure out who to take them to see for that. I think it is the neurologist but I am not sure.

I have had both of my kids to the Head of genetics at Cleveland clinic & Akron General and they said they have no right to put them in the handicap class that they don't belong there. I have gotten it in writing from the doctors but the school won't listen.

I am sorry if I have offended othere teachers on here. I am not saying teachers are bad and I know the ones on here aren't. Like I had said there are some great teachers at our school and there are some bad ones.
I caught a teacher yanking 1 of my boys by the arm his very 1st day of school & pulled him on the spot. He never made it into her classroom & I gave her hell right there in the hall. 3 days later my sitter caught my other son't teacher at that school yanking him by the hood of his jacket. He never returned either. I would rather home school my kids & know what is happening to them than let some idiot who has no business in a classroom mistreat my children. But then again if someone mistreats my children I have no qualms about getting in their face about it & defending my babies. The teachers have learned VERY quickly not to mess with my children or face MY wrath. If my child needs to be disciplined that is another story. But it better be done fairly & properly. I have even signed permission slips for corporal punishment for a couple of my kids since nothing else was working. As soon as my kids knew a paddle was a possibility they straightened up REAL fast. The catch was I had to be present to witness the paddling & had to be given *** of the circumstances 1st. If I felt my children were being wrongly punished (which I have caught happening a couple times this past year with my youngest daughter) the punishment was refused & I dealt with the situation myself by going thru the principal. The principal at the school my 2 youngest are going to is very cooperative because he knows I don't go off unnecessarily. I always try to deal with the teacher 1st, or whatever staff the issue is with, or the other child's parent if there is a child causing problems. When all else fails, I go to the Superintendent's office. If none of that works I move my kids if the situation warrants it. I have been lucky since moving where I am now. No serious problems with this school in the entire 8 years we have been here.

I'm not in denial, believe me, teachers know better than anyone about bad teachers. Please. Drop. It. Take it to PM, take it to your FB page.

Agreed! There are so many of us that ARE good teachers. I love my job, love my kids, dedicate so much of my time and resources for my students just like so many other good teachers out there. I know both sides of the coin, being both a parent and a teacher, but please don't lump us all into the "bad teachers" category. :(

It's not towards you.

Michelle asked for help with her son, and that's a valid thing, I think. But to continue to add "bad teacher" stories isn't helpful to anyone. Or, am I alone in this? Maybe it's me and the last several posts are just fine.

You did nothing wrong Gabrielle.

And Anderson, no one is bashing teachers. We have all had experiences with both good & bad teachers in school. It's just a fact of life. I EVERY profession there are people who are good at their job & those who should never have attempted it. No one was trying to bash teachers. We were discussing a traumatic & difficult situation for ourselves & our children. I'm sorry if the facts of life offend you.

Phew this is getting deep! Change of subject, perhaps?

On a lighter note, Reese your PayPal is sent.

Am I the only one around that doesn't fel like doing ANYTHING today? It's hot and humid and I just don't feel like moving despite the mountains of laundry piling up in my laundry room!
