I know.... We will have to make plans one of these days to meet up.

Express is just so slow. You aren't that far from me if I remember. I can't believe it took 2 days.

Does anybody know what this flower is called. It's very fragrant, not appealing to me but the flower is pretty. I have these all over the yard. I may dig up some bulbs for a swap item.

CRAZYPETLADY - I am so glad they are all settled in and happy.  So did YOU take the big maran rooster out of the cage by yourself?   He was a prince huh?  He is so big he does not like picked up but he really is a big loveable, easy going guy.  

Yup I would love all of us to meet up some day.  Y'all just say the word.  I would go see SONEW in NY but WOW, she is wayyyyyyy up there. I think SONEW needs a cruise to a warmer location LOL!!   I think we should all plan for a 3 day Bahama cruise next summer! 

No I chickened out and my friend grabbed him for me. He also grabbed Slade the big Orph. Roo I got from Heather, who had me bufflaloed, he just snatched him up by his feet and Slade sat there while he patted him on the head. The BBS Orphs. Have been relocated to my friends place but I will still have access to the eggs for swapping/hatching.

Did someone say CRUISE? I think I coud even get DH to go for that or bring my pops he LOVES to travel.

Marie, I almost thought it was a Ghost Lily aka Naked Lady but I don't think mine are fragrant. Do the leaves come up then die before the flower stalk comes up? It appears to be some type of Lily.

Laurie and Natalie, yes it is a Native Prairie plant. (Cup Plant). Water collects in the cups formed by the leaf at the stem where birds will then drink. Pionier kids would cut the stem at a certain time and collect the sap and chew it as gum. If done at the wrong time, it is like Super Glue and coats your teeth. Mine likes to reseed. It forms a really deep tap root.

Deborah, you are able to just say see my swap page when you claim an offer. I'm not sure what Corancher decided on the shipping on initial swaps for new swappers. We have discussed it several times but I can't remember what was decided.

Finally, everything unloaded & settled from the Mt Hope swap this weekend. I got to meet Michelle (reesepoultry) and her precious babies. She is so sweet! I see why she loves her banties so much. She is a banty herself...she's so tiny & petite

She told me she had gotten her peacock & I KNEW I had someone with the perfect peahen for her!!! I had already gotten birds from him for someone else a couple weeks ago so I just checked with him & he brought it to the swap for her. He's so nice, he gave my kids a TON of peacock feathers when we were out there getting the last set of birds.

Michelle is right. I'm so BAD when I go to swaps!!! I swear I brought home more than I took with me!!!!

I had another friend who was selling at another swap further south of me who lives north of me stop by on her way home so we could do MORE swapping!!! Ended up with with a Lavender Ameraucana LF roo & a bunny from her (Michelle ended up with 2 bunnies at Mt Hope) & she got 1 of the 4 Cochin banties I had gotten from Michelle. See Michelle, you even did swapping without being there

All 3 of us are checking into going to the Farmerstown, Ohio Swap Meet next month, but I haven't been able to find the date for it yet. If anyone happens to know PLEASE fill me in!!!!

Ha ha...... Your too funny. My husbands jaw about hit the ground when the kids came running in the house and said " Look what we got daddy"

They have held them poor things all night. I just had to put them to bed and pry them out of there hands.

I am definatley looking forward to the swap next month. If it is late enough the kids will be back in school and I'll only have 1 to get ready. It took me forever when I got homw to get my truck cleaned up and the birds put away and there cages cleaned. Hubby was like you got a Peahen too....... But yet he was in the barn watching them.

I thought I was in big trouble for the bunnies. Nah...... He knows better. Maybe I will have some cuckoo's available next month Nan, then we can do some swapping.

I had fun, it was nice getting away from the house. You are too funny. I told my husband about how many birds you had to chase while we were there. Then I told him about the loose duck soooo many people were trying to catch.
