Thanks for your kindness everyone. I have to say I'm very nervous though after seeing the article about the Idaho hatchery... 1/3 my chickens came from dunlap and all my ducks. My chickens were all treated for cocci before I put the chicks that died in a seperated pen in the chicken run. I hope this is not salmonella related.

Hey Beth... I just finally candled the Blue Polish and BLRW eggs last night... only have one quitter and one dud (both BLRW) but the rest are looking awesome!! Those are great odds for shipped eggs. I will keep you updated!

OK...not sure WHAT the issue is, but out of 39 eggs from MaryRuthLangdon I got 1 lonely little quail baby and out of 50 eggs from DMRippy I got 3 surviving Olive Eggers & 1 Super Blue. I had an entire do2en eggs that either pipped internally & didn't make it out or just quit during lockdown. So far, only 1 has hatched out of the 31 from Mrhein277, but the are due today. The 1 that hatched was 2 days ago, an EE. This is driving me cra2y!!! I have to double check who I got the other batch of buttons from, but out of like 30 eggs, none even developed. Think I would be better off just ordering a chick assortment from a hatchery & reselling those!!!!

Button eggs seem to be very delicate. They are so tiny I have low rates with them. I have been having better luck not turning the shipped eggs for the first 3-4 days to give the air cells a bit more time to unscramble.

I usually chance it because what you get from shipped eggs are such higher quality. I cant compete with a feed store on price, I have to do it by having much better birds.

Yes buttons are hard I think I got 57 ish eggs and only one hatched and only a few even started. I haventt had any luck with any EE eggs non hatched this hatching season yet half grew to almost hatch then died. Wonder what it is about them but I havent had great luck with any eggs.

For everyone wondering about the FNNEEs. ... Here are some I still have. I sell out and of course have just roosters left.

I will be hatching for myself this fall.
