How long does it take till they get there feet working after they hatch. The little silkie hatched but his leggs dont seem to work right he just kinda paddles them behind him and hasnt starting walking yet. Its been aobut 2 hours since he hatched. Please tell me this is normal.

if the feet or legs are wonky there is stuff you can do about it, too, but leave them awhile and see if it fixes itself.

I have found that the wire floor gives them better over all footing.. they can grip on to it and stand quicker. You might need to tape the legs together leaving a space between mind you I have also made a right angle (90 degrees) railing inside the incubator out of cut papetowel rolls This will keep the baby in an up right position while it tries to get its feet under it better. It worked wonders here ")

Thanks everyone by the time I had to leave he was just sleeping but I put a wash cloth under him for traction and left him in the brinsea mini. I have my broadcast going if anyone want s to go see him I have no idea what color he is sapose to be or why his head looks funny last time I looked he was sleeping hopefully you can see him move \around and decdie what stuff might help him most

If that is a Silkie then the reason the head looks funny is because it has a vaulted skull, a desirable trait in a Silkie.

Oh...and I have a friend putting in an order from Ideal that she said we were welcome to add to, so Rachael...if you want anything or your friend still wants more Sebrights, check out the website & let me know what you want & I'll have her add it on.
