I just saw this. I am so sorry for your loss. How horrid. My neighbors lost over 20 plus 4 ducks to something a few months ago. I lost 5. We have everything around here. I hope the bears don't show up.
I hope UR hen will survive .

May you be able to find more . again So sorry

I love you guys!!! Thank you..my eyes hurt today from crying

..didnt sleep much...Its amazing how close you can get to those silly birds...I have 80+ but those goofballs I was in love with.

My one survivor is doing well...lots of special treats for her this morning and she was talking:D

I have the most amazing friends that I met on BYC ....My one BYC girlfriend just hatched out some of my chicks yesterday she graciously said I could have them!!!..my other BYC girlfriend and her husband volunteered to go get them since they are on the way to my house and drive the 6 hours to me

Well meet for dinner..(MY TREAT FOR SURE ) they will spend the night at our house and drive home in morning...October 12th I will meet the grandchildren and pray they are half as sweet as their parents!!! I love BYC
AWESOME>>> AWESOME >>>AWESOME!!!
I also have the electric fence. I cannot say how many times I hear the sound of animals getting zapped. It doesn't kill them just makes them not want to come back.
If anyone does decide to get the electric fence keep in mind you want the animal to hit the fence with his nose. 3 rows are usually the best. If the animal gets hit past their head, near their shoulders first, they do not back up they go forward into your yard.

(ooops, I was quoting Mr Heinz here before this Just imagine it in this spot!)
this. Awesome that you got some back, that is the wonderful thing about sharing eggs, they come ack in the most wonderful ways even in the heart of tragedy.

I have the PoultryNet Plus and PermaNet from Premier1 around my chickens and I LOVE it! I know we have every manner of creature stalking around here (no bears, though, thankfully) and my chickens and ducks have been safe even unsecured overnight. We're thinking of buying more to give the new bull more room to roam while we finish the permanent fencing.

My husband bought me that very same fencing..sorta..he cut out the photo andngave it to me for xmas with other gifts...I asked for it all summer...I got everything else that was promised except the fencing...I can tell you it will be our first purchase come Spring!!!

I like the poultry netting because it is easy to move around, well relatively speaking anyway. We also have the movable posts with the poly rope that we used for the cow and donkey before we got the bull. Every time we move it, it has to be completely restrung - very time consuming.
