So I went out to tend my flock and I saw one of my Ameracauna's in a nest box...ok so no big deal. But as I was scraping poop trays, she jumped out of the box and laid on the floor next to me. Clearly in distress so I picked her up (no fight) and brought her inside.

She's currently in a dog kennel in the house with chicken feed and water with electrolytes. No sign of anything wrong other than her being listless and just laying there. She's just laying in the kennel and has made no noises like she's scared...she just lays there.

Any ideas on what is wrong? She is 1 yr old. She's been through a molt. Egg bound? No sign of parasites. I felt her abdomen and no sign of being egg bound. She is pooping and it looks totally normal.

Not sure what to do at this point other than keep her separated and offer her feed and water. Any ideas?

k..no egg... I checked the nest box she jumped out of. I'm thinking she is egg bound but can't feel anything stuck. She is clearly stressed and I don't know what's wrong therefore what to do for her! When I picked her up she didn't fight me at all and she should have!

Update: Kept her inside overnight and the next morning she was back to her old self. Making soft noises, eating, drinking and pooping. No egg in the kennel and poop looked normal other than a little wet but not diarrhea. Put her back out in the coop with the others. Not sure what was wrong with her!
