I took some sausage out of the freezer and tomato puree out of the pantry. I'm thinking sausage subs.
I just wish there was a substitute for the mushrooms I don't have

I found some white kidney beans.
Not exactly mushrooms, but will give my sandwich a different texture than just sausage and onions.

I don't get to a Wendy's very often, but I do love BK's crispy chicken sandwich. Beats McDonalds hands down.

I don't think there are any substitutes for mushrooms, except another kind of mushroom. But you could try some caramelized onions and garlic.
