Whatcha Making for Supper?

I stopped getting notifications! Last night was (moose burger) taco night, I had a moose and bean soft taco.

These Hawaiian rolls @oldhenlikesdogs is talking me about has gotten me wondering, what are they?

Tonight--- Kraft dinner and hot dogs. Tomorrow--- ham hocks? I've never had nor cooked this cut of meat. I'd love to dust off my slow cooker. Any advice on how to prepare and serve these?

The only way I've had ham hocks was when they were cooked with beans, like for a ham & bean soup. Maybe others will have better ideas.

There is a thread about not getting alerts/notifications. It's under "Announcements, Feedback, Issues and Guides." Please let Nifty Chicken know about it.

Kings Hawaiian rolls. They are a brand, a bit on the sweet side, I like the onion ones but otherwise I think they’re overrated.

ham hocks and beans are how we use them. Simmer a pound of navy beans covered in water with a tsp of salt and ham hocks with a bay leaf or two until the beans are done, or bake uncovered at 350 degrees adding water as necessary. Never stir beans while they’re cooking, that’s what makes them mushy. Or we use them in baked beans instead of bacon or salt pork. Delisherous!

They are a slightly sweetened dinner roll. We find them delicious. I made mine into tiny PB&J.

Tonight because it was a long busy day we had a mix of onion rings, breaded mushrooms, and breaded cheese curds tossed in the oven for a bit. Also had a salad.
