Whatcha Making for Supper?

how many of y'all have your black eyed peas, hog jowls, greens and cornbread ready to go for jan 1? and thinking about a puh-kahn pie for dessert lol.

Never really did a traditional New Years dinner.

I may make steak, sauteed mushrooms and asparagus. It's really to cold here to use the grill.

That sounds really good! I don’t have hog jowl but I do have a ham bone. I have dry beans from my garden and kale, would that work? :drool

Got the cabbage, ham, black eyed peas and cornbread ready to go. Had left over pecan pie from Thanksgiving that I froze just for tomorrow. Don't put hog jowls in my cabbage or peas, I will just use bacon- used to use Fat Back, but don't have any right now.

i think it's supposed to be black eyed peas for luck. but it's the end of 2020, so i say go with what you're lucky enough to have! i don't use hog jowls either, usually ham. gotta have the cornbread though.
