Do you ever toast your walnuts, either in the oven or in a dry skillet? Really brings out their sweetness.I picked a bunch of leaf lettuce, some kale and collards and made a big salad. Added a few almonds and walnuts and extra virgin olive oil.
I'll give that a try. Thanks!Do you ever toast your walnuts, either in the oven or in a dry skillet? Really brings out their sweetness.
How long the heat setting ? cast iron?Do you ever toast your walnuts, either in the oven or in a dry skillet? Really brings out their sweetness.
Any skillet will do, I used my heavy stainless (waterless), just a dry pan on the stove top tonight. No point heating up the oven really. Oh, medium heat I guess. Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon or such. Just keep an eye on it, it only takes a few minutes. Your nose will tell you, when they start to smell the least bit toasty I take them off the heat and let them cool in the pan.How long the heat setting ? cast iron?
