Whatcha Making for Supper?

Baked ziti made with ground duck, beef and broccoli stir-fry made with duck instead of beef, brownies, fried bacon 'n' cabbage 'n' onions, and smoked goose. I'm planning a no-cooking week, so I'm loading up the fridge now! My dinner tonight will consist of a little bit of everything - you know, for quality control!

I'm smoking a pork shoulder today. Most of it will go in the freezer along with portions of the spare ribs I smoked the other day.

Calzones?
What's easy about calzones? I've never made them before. They sound a lot like making pie in a pocket to me. And I'm not even good at making regular pie crusts.

I'm not actually making these pizzas. I'm getting the cauliflower crust pizzas at Costco. They are good, but I'm tired of them.

I assumed you had lots of homemade pizza dough you needed to use. Didn't know you were using store bought pizzas.

Oh okay, that makes total sense. No, I make my pizza dough fresh when I have the time. But, you saw the process. It doesn't fit a 45 minute window.

Having watched the video, I can see where you get that idea. He made 10 pizza doughs and froze 9 of them. I didn't do that. I cut his recipe down to just make two small pizzas that I cook all at once. We love leftover "good" pizza to make pizza omelets, and pizza crust toast.

And, of course, you're right. Calzones would obviously be made with pizza dough and not pie crust. Hmm... 🤔 Maybe I will make more pizza dough next time and try making calzones. Thanks for the idea!!!

But that will be after I get over this pizza blitz. 🤣
