Whatcha Making for Supper?

I'm undecided.
I went into the store after work to buy a steak, which I did, but they had these beautiful cube steaks sitting there, too. And I haven't had country fried steak in a while. So I bought both.

Meanwhile, unbelievable news on the quail eggs I thought I had coming. So I'm not really thinking about dinner at the moment.
I should probably run back to the store and buy some ice cream.

I made a pot roast in the crockpot. Meat from the food pantry and the rest from the store. Trying to not beat myself up about getting food from a pantry, but I'm in a tight spot. It tasted good though. Need to figure out how to store it with only a mini fridge.

I would slice it and store it in plastic wrap or baggies. That takes the least amount of space.

There is absolutely no problem with getting food from a pantry. Many folks in my area do it. Many churches have one. It's how we share with our neighbors. And we love to share with our neighbors!!! Many pantries are supplied by local grocery stores.

In fact, I heard recently that once a week, Costco puts all their products out on carts in the back that didn't sell within a certain time frame. Everything from fresh vegetables to prepared meals. These are all items that were on the shelf for sale that day. Ever see anything out of date at Costco? Apparently neither is this stuff. My friend who knows about this says you have to sign up for it and you get one day a month that you can come take whatever you want. If I needed it, I would do it in a heartbeat. Costco has excellent food quality.
