I have made this recipe for Cockerel in a Riesling Mushroom Sauce. I understand it was excellent. I couldn't eat it, nor try it, because it was Verne. I might have been okay with it if DH hadn't labeled him "Verne" in the freezer.

Oh dear! I made it a point this year not to name any of the birds I hatched specifically for this reason! Names will come once the roster is finalized. Thank you for the recipe!

It was my first flock and I was attached. Too long a story of why he was culled for this thread. Doesn't matter at this point anyway.

Had nachos again. Ate really healthy for the other 2 meals, so I don't feel that bad about it.

There is bit of lettuce in the garden doing burritos tonight,
with tator tots.

Sheet pan roasted chicken with veggies, sour dough boule and bacon. Green beans from the garden. Salad, of course.

My 95 year old neighbor and her grandson come for dinner every Thursday so this is for them and DH. I don't like bacon and I'm on a diet, so just salad for me and maybe a piece of chicken. But, it's not a big deal. That's what I do most nights. Staying away from carbs for a month or so to lose 10 lbs.
