Aaawwwwww I hope they let us cuddle them forever! We got them as more of a pet than layers. I’m going to have to get a picture of my oldest son. He goes down and sits in the run with the chickens and they all come and sit on his lap. We spoiled the poop out of them. We will definitely keep an eye on the silkies if they get picked on too much I’ll get them a new pin.... and more silkies! Our polish is so funny when you hold it, it falls asleep in your hand! It had pasty butt and fell asleep while I was washing it’s bum. I didn’t know chickens would be so much fun. A lot of work, but fun.

How does your son manage to get the chickens to climb onto them? Mine always run away until I pick them up (but also my brother and dad love to terrorize them, maybe that's why)

He goes in the run everyday and sits down. The chickens just climb up and sit in his lap. For me when I open the door they all run out because they know I’m taking them out to free range. You can use treats to help encourage them into your lap too. He spent a lot of time in there. A few hours a day.
