What're your most indespensible kitchen gadgets?

That's a neat idea just to throw down a piece of plastic to catch the cheese. Bowls never fit right anyway.

It does work great and if I have too much then I can just wrap up the extra. There is almost another grated that does the cheese a bit larger. I can save money buying a block of cheddar and then grate myself. I put in quart size zip lock bags and throw it in the freezer and just thaw in the frig when we get low and it comes out perfect.

Funny thing about the Manoline - I have a professional one (cost about $150.00) and my mom found this one for $15.00 and I like it so much better. I use it a lot to make homemade Potato Chips!!

Sorry but limiting to two is too hard...

Behmor 1600 coffee ROASTER
Rancilio Ms Silvia espresso machine
Gaggia MDK burr grinder (had it 20 years)
Kitchen Aid Mixer

pre-war carbon steel knives, the best.
Chickens to clean up an bits of vegetable matter that make it to the floor

Oh, a Farberware white plastic spatula/pancake turner I have had for 30 years.
It is the only thing I can get my fried eggs flipped over with. It is finally getting cracked and I will be searching the thrift stores for a new one.

Kitchenaid mixer. A friend in high school and I used to exchange kitchen gifts at Christmas. The object was to see who could find the weirdest gadget to give the other. Hey we lived in the South, in the country, in the '60s. You couldn't even buy dried basil here! We had radish rosette makers, lemon zesters, melon ballers and all kinds of oddball things. It was fun trying them all out. The one I still use is a "butter cutter"; when I have dinner guests I slice the stick of butter and then put it in the butter dish because it makes serving yourself butter a lot easier.

1. Definitely my Cuisinart Food processor. That is what my DD and DSiL wanted for college graduation this year.
2. Henckles 8" chefs knife
3. Kitchen-aid stick blender
4. Kitchen-aid Mixer
5. Mandolin from Pampered Chef

I am sure there is more. Okay
