I have 1 chicken left of our flock of 4. we bought isa browns but our remaining chicken is a pure breed rhode island red.... we think. she has been by herself since October 2013 and seems to be lonely, as she will follow the dog around (who is on a lead with me, so he doesn't eat her). she will be 3 in may and our last pure breeds lived until 7,8 and 9 years old. I would hate for her to live lonely until that age.
we doing want to get loads more chickens as could be moving house but don't want a lonely chicken.
I have heard it can be hard to introduce hens to each other but if it was just one to another would it be easier.
can anyone help me with what I can do for my Bella chicken
cheers
