I LOVE Halloween, it's my FAVORITE holiday! I really like becoming a different person for just one night (the same reason I love theatre).
I'm going to be a Gypsy this year, it's the last year I'll be trick-or-treating. Goodbye, youth...
I have a little anecdote about Halloween last year, anyone want to hear? It's funny and scary and very strange...
My friends and I all decided to have a party at my friend Sally's house. It was lovely- we went trick-or-treating in her neighborhood then ate dinner (sort of) and tromped up to her room to talk and eventually sleep. Sally fell asleep first, and she says really funny things in her sleep like "I don't wanna read" and "No! No trumpets in the belly!" It's really funny. She cuts it out after about half an hour, so we all went to sleep...
Only to be awakened at 2:00 in the morning by Sally sitting bolt upright and screaming "fire! Fire!"
We moaned and groaned and told Sally to cut it out, it was only a nightmare. Then her mom burst in the bedroom door yelling for everyone to get out of the house! We ran as quick as we could, there were these huge BOOMs shaking the house. We ran across the grass to their neighbor's house to the right and got a full view... Sally's house wasn't on fire, but their lefthand neighbors' car, RIGHT NEXT TO THEIR HOUSE, like seriously 10 feet away, was completely ablaze! IT had just BLOWN UP. The firetrucks came, and the righthand neighbors got we freezing folks some blankets, and finally we went back inside and to sleep. You can still see some melting of the vinyl on the side of Sally's house... yikes! Whenever we gather together we always recount this story.
