The wife and I went out to do some errands and I hit Top Tomato to get ragu fixings. I found the most AMAZING fat spagetti type pasta. It doesn't have a name on it but it's like a Perciatell or Bucatinni pasta in that it is round and long like spagetti but has a hole running down the length of it inside (so the pasta sauce goes inside too). The fattest one I found has no name on the label but I swear it is the diameter of a normal drinking straw - no fooling. Made by Divella, all semolina. A $1.49 !!

It says Ziti on the UPC code

I've never seen ziti that long though.

I know - but that ain't no ziti I know of (ziti is more like a penne but without the angled (pen like) ends... I looked real hard at Devilla/Dececco's website (in Italian) and never found it. I'm sending the wife back for 10 packages Tuesday when she goes back to work. This stuff is wild...

Enchiladas. After everything I made today I needed easy. I made:

Gump Bread
Cinnamon rolls
Blackberry cake
Jalepeno cheese bread
Chocolate chip cookies.

All from scratch.

peepless's sticky chicken -
- was the best baked chicken I have ever made.
I followed the recipe exactly & cooked two birds. It created an inordinate amount of already seasoned broth and yet left the chicken moist & falling off the bone.
I put the broth, some more water & carcasses in the crock pot on low over night; strained & used the broth the next night for my Bean, Spinach and Herb Soup. Used the meat scraps to make already seasoned chicken salad for later in the week . . . so that's three large meals for 5 people out of two birds!
