I have a one year old silver laced wyndotte who seems to be unwell...a couple of days ago it was not up for morning feed with other chook but sat on nest. It barely moved and took little notice of feeding when it would usually be extremely keen.....I fed other chook at two more intervals on which on the second time I was met by both chooks and it looked and seemed fine. This morning it was absent once again at morning feed but unlike yesterday it never rose atcall today.... I open the house and it is alive so I placed water n food next to it but it did not seem to eat or drink...it hardly moved??? I'm not sure what to do?

It seems to me she could be going broody. Or already broody. When hens want to hatch a clutch of eggs they dont eat or drink alot because their so concerned with their eggs. If this is the case there are many different ways to break a broody but if you want chicks you could get some fertile eggs and put underneath her. In exchange or the ones she is on now. If you have a rooster the eggs are probably already fertile!
