What's happening?

My dad has some meat chickens and quite a few have gotten very ill and we're not sure what's wrong. They are very lethargic, don't move around but just lay in one place and never pick there heads up Offf the ground. Does anyone have any idea what is happening? His first flock of meat chickens had no problem and now we've had 4 that we've had to quarantine, one has died and another seems like it won't make it much longer. No idea what is causing this :/

If they are Cornish X it could be heart failure from eating too much. Check out our Meat Birds forum, here. I've never raised them, myself, but they are a hybrid and there is bound to be some genetic variation. It may be that this batch needs a bit different management than other batches.
