What's inbreeding?

And for what is bad
Anyone knows what's it?

It's when 2 animals that are closely related are bred together. For example a rooster breeds with a hen, and the 2 had the same parents

Yes, inbreeding produces offspring that end up with a number of genetic problems

Do a search on this forum. There are several threads about inbreeding and line breeding.

Basically, if your parent stock are healthy, your offspring are going to be healthy. With hatchery birds I've bred about 4 generations and had no issues.

X 2 -- inbreeding/line-breeding is used frequently to build good, strong lines in many animals -- done correctly and with good attention to the strengths and weaknesses being produced it is a very useful tool.
