Hello,
Not new to Backyard Chickens, but new to setting up an account. We've been backyard chickening for 6.5 years and have really enjoyed having birds in our lives.

Current flock is 29 chickens to include:

10 chicks :jumpy(Easter eggers, dark brahmas, Old English Game Bantams, Turkens, and Jersey Giants)
(Gandalf, Ivy, Wilkes, Beau-Nubbs (who at almost 2 months still has not completely feathered out), Cricket, Birdie, Blondie, Bug, Orion, and Dipper)

5 Older Silkies (4-6 years old: Fluffy, "The original chicken" who gave us our very first egg on the day we were coloring eggs for Easter, Blackberry (who has adopted and raised anything you put under her), Vanilla (sometimes bearded sometimes not, we can't tell), Creampuff, Bun Bun (who we saved after being pushed from the nest by her first time mom) and (Two of these were Best in Show at our small county fair!)

3 Older full-size hens (6 years old: 2 Speckle Sussex [Gingersnap and Suki], 1 Americauna, [Poof, who is the Top Hen)

1 Blue Andalusian (Winnie)
1 Leghorn (Moondust)
2 Black Australorps (Gwen and Gwain)
3 Seramas (Best In Show!) (Alice, Thimble, and Ebby)
1 Silver Sebright (Winslowe)
1 Light Brahma (Beckett)
1 Americauna (Acorn)
1 Old English Game Bantam (Best in Show and the funniest chicken ever! She has a huge comb that flaps like a flag when she runs across the yard, attacks squirrels, and follows people around, risking being stepped on, and talks to you).

My daughter and I care for the flock together and sometimes we get enough eggs to pay for a bag of food! :clapWe have learned so much about caring for birds and their unique needs.

Next week, we are expanding into water fowl with her first Pilgrim Geese (yikes!)
