What's out there?! Scary noises curious & nervous

That's the weird part is that I don't usually hear owls very close to my house but I did yesterday morning shortly before I heard the screaming. I've heard owls before in the distance but this was close to my garage. The screaming came from the same side of the property. But I didn't really pay attention to much of the noises so I heard the spine curling noise. For me to hear it from the other side of the property from me at the chicken coop it was EXTREMELY loud.

I hate when they make this sound, it makes your stomach turn from the screaming.

Mating cats can scream out too making horrible screaming sounds.

Yes it did make my stomach turn. Because it really did sound like a young girl was getting killed. But I obviously know it was an animal but yeah it's almost chilling

I know lynx make a sound like this too but we don't have lynx in the area. We have bobcats.

I'll have to check but never heard of lynx in our area. Getting close to the mountains but not that close. Bobcat are not frequent but definitely not rare in our area

I’m with fox also....I’ve heard them literally scream like a young girl in trouble in the woods before...bone chilling and scary the first time you hear it....but was just a fox
