I'd go khakis then if you want eggs then. They can lay up to 350 eggs a season. Runners, welsh harlequins, and cayugas lay up to 300 per season.

Maybe you could get some mixed ducks? If it's a nice mix, like with khaki or something it should lay pretty well. I had a buff/khaki mix hen that laid daily, also very pretty. My muscovy lay daily if theyre not brooding babies, i just love them. but they are an 'aquired taste' as far as looks are concerned. they're a million times quieter than my other ducks too!

My Muscovy females are very friendly. Not to mention easy to take care of. They're winter hardy, summer hardy, and don't require a large water source. Also my girls don't mind when I give them kisses.
They're calm, fly pretty well, and are pretty big. They also lay a good amount of eggs, about every other day (very yummy), but it doesn't take much to make them broody. I've had to brake them of this habit several times this season and it's hard to do that. My black female will try to take my finger off if I'm taking her eggs away, though.
Never had experience with drakes. But I hear they can be aggressive. Come to think of it, I hear alot of stories about drakes gone bad.
