Mine love minnows, meal worms, crickets and earth worms! the chickens can't get enough of the meal worms but some of my ducks aren't too fond of them. But everything else they go nuts for! I was wondering the same thing about the niacin in the crickets! And yes i have heard that the meal worms are pretty fatty and have less protein, but apparently there is another type of bug/worm with higher protein and less fat but almost exactly like meal worms!
