whats the best way to raise chicks inside or outside

I got my 3 week olds inside, but they go outside in thier chicken playpen during the day and I bring them back in when the sun goes down.

They are really getting used to this, because in the morning they come to the front of the brooder wanting to get on with it.

My chickens are pets.
