when we were moving into our 'farm house' my youngest daughter Emma was 2 yet...Well the last load of stuff we brought was the food in the frig....I had it all in the yukon.. I ran into the gas station quick to pay for gas and get a coffee, well when I got back out into the yukon I noticed what Emma had done....
The closest bag of food to her had the butter tub in it...She took that and proceded to smear the WHOLE butter tub into her hair...She wasn't 'shiney hair' as she put it....She still talks about it to this day....
I tell ya it took about a week to get all the 'greasiness' outta her hair......
Then here's another Emma story......
When Jason was deployed the first time she was about 3 (Abby was about 8)...Well the day BEFORE he was to come home for his 2 week block leave(he was already gone for 14 months at this time) Emma did a number...
Of course I couldn't sleep, so I was up all day and night...Finally at about 3 in the morning I figured I would take a shower and start getting ready to go to the airport...Even though we didn't have to pick him up until like noon...so anyway I took a shower and when I came out Emma was asleep on the livingroom floor...Prior to me taking a shower she had been in her bed sleeping...Well I noticed a little blonde clump of hair on the floor...Didn't think much of it as 2 or 3 days before she had cut her bangs...So I went to pick it up...And wouldn't you know it, this 'little' clump of hair WASN'T from when she cut her bangs.....
Here she woke up while I was in the shower, came downstairs, climbed on top the kitchen counter and up ontop the frig to get the scissors, got off the counter, went into the livingroom and CUT ALL HER HAIR OFF, and then went and put the scissors back(climbing back ontop the counter and frig to put them back where they were), and went back to the livingroom and fell back asleep ontop of MOST of the hair she had cut off....
Now Emma had the most lovely blonde "Natural Nellie Olsen" curls that you have ever seen. Her hair was down past her waist at that time...After her hair cut it was shorter than a 'bowl' cut--above her ears....
I woke her up and asked her what she did...She said she didnt' do anything someone else must of cut all her hair off...Finally at the barber she admitted to doing it...Her reasoning....
Hold On for this.........
She wanted to be like her dad...She wanted to have the same hair as him, so he would think they were twins and then he could stay home and play with her toys forever(instead of only 2 weeks) and not have to go back to Iraq!!!!
When we picked him up from the airport when I gave him that 'first hug' the first thing I said to him was "Tell Emma her hair is BEAUTIFUL!!!!"
Abby is a pretty good kid...I am gonna have to think of some of the off the wall stuff she has done/said and will repost later....
