What's the deal with chickens and meat, anyways?

My chickens are cheerful omnivores. Cooked or raw, they're good either way.

Okay---monogamous rabbits? Seriously?

Had the author ever seen rabbits mating? That's too funny!

And if a mouse runs through the coop, that is the end of that mouse because the chickens will kill it and eat it.
Ha, funny you should mention that. I went out to my coop the other day and found blood all over the place. A couple of my chickens had blood on their feathers and beaks. All of them were wound up and acting all crazy. It took me a while to figure it out, but I know they killed a mouse in there. Chickens are homicidal maniacs if there's something in there that they can kill and eat. My chickens act like vultures too. They love meat and trimmings. I think they can use the extra energy that it provides in the cold winters we have here.

You may have already seen this on another thread......

Any time I get lucky enough to trap a coon or possum, I put it in a crock pot WHOLE. No skinning or gutting, cook until meat falls off the bone. Cool and serve. They love it. Free protein!

Ps. The crock pot belongs to the chickens and is kept and
used in the feed room.

Quote: Lol...I'm glad you specified it's a dedicated crock pot. I get in enough trouble with machine parts in the dishwasher...can't imagine using our crock pot for roadkill and getting away with it!
