Whats the deal with purchasing fertilized eggs

I'll get some pics on Thursday. We stacked hay in the barn today and I'm even more tired than I was Sunday, the day after we finished tearing a barn down for a guy about 75 miles from us. The guys tore the timber off the pole barn and I stacked it on the trailer. We had scads of 16 foot lumber... anyway, I'm beat, and I look like it too. Those boards bruised me up!

All the Leghorns seem to have floppy combs. She sat on brown, white, and blue/green eggs; there is one little bearded chipmunk in the bunch and the remaining three chicks are from white eggs. I'll get a pic of momma Leghorn tomorrow.

My non brooding girls combs bend over to the side some but are deep healthy red and still erect an inch off the skin. Poor Mollys comb is like a limp noodle on the head:( and not deep red either.

I've seen it said, and now I believe...
you want to guarantee your hen(s) will go broody? order an incubator.

I took the pictures on Thursday as I promised... But somehow I haven't managed to post them till now.
