What's the hatch date?

This is probably a wildly dumb question, but for some reason the backwards countdown on the Mini Advance throws me for a loop. I set my eggs in the evening on February 21. Currently, the Brinsea reads Day 7. Does it count down to Day 1 or to Day 0? I know I lockdown when it reaches Day 2 (the 12th) so am I correct in assuming I should expect the hatch date to be the 14th?

Your hatch date is the 14th, so that's day 21. So your lockdown date is the 11th, because that would be the 18th day

Not a stupid question because it is confusing.
If you set chicken eggs on a Tuesday, they hatch on a Tuesday. So yes, the 14th would be the hatch date.

Yeah, hatch date is 14th, lockdown begins on the 11th - this Saturday.

I'm not a big 'lockdown' person. I just make sure I stop turning in the middle of the third week and raise the humidity the last couple days. There's no magic to the 18th day.

No, there's not, but it does make it easier especially for beginners.

Thank you all for replying! Ok, I got it! I will lockdown Saturday night after candling. I should have set them first thing in the morning rather than at night, I think I'd be less confused!
