What's the laws on shipping chicks from a private farm to customer?

Thinking about getting set up to hatch 500 plus chicks per batch and wondering what the laws are if I sell and ship them?? I'm in rural north Texas.

Some states require that all shipped chicks come from NPIP certified flocks.

What breeds are you hatching?

Leghorn x Rhode Island reds. Go a pretty good variety of bird just have to pick which roo I want over what hens

I've got Cochins, barred rocks, white rocks, silkies, rir, old English and one Dominicor barred rock cross roo

You will need to be NPIP plus a 9-3 report of sale plus some states require avian influenza clean . Some states require a entry permit number for the year . Free but required .

Contact your state vet . They are in charge of NPIP 9-3 forms avian influenza testing . Each state must be contacted for entry permits if required . Look under AG department .
