Whats the minimum Temp. for EE's?

If it goes below Zero, is that too cold? It's only gotten to 0 Degrees here, and I have 5 EE's and a Heater.
it will heat 'bout 10 degrees higher than outside the coop. Please Help!

EEs are pretty cold-hardy. I have a heat lamp in the coop too and if it is zero outside it will normally be 20 degrees higher inside. Make sure they have lots of bedding and some ventilation up high but no drafts. I have a single paned window so I put plastic over that to keep the cold out.

We have been cold here, -25 below, and my EE's did just fine with out added heat. However, western SD is very dry, as in no humidity, that might make a major difference.

But most of the advice on this site, is that adding heat, causes problems, and that hens do get along just fine in darn cold weather, way below 0. Mrsk

They don't need heat, just good up high ventilation, and they are probably more comfortable in cold climates with a wider flat roost so they can rest their bodies on their toes.
Some breeds with really large tall combs get frostbite but this should not be a problem with EE's.

I have EE's in my layer flock here in Michigan and they do alright. Had them for last couple of winters. It was -11* at sunrise this morning.

My EEs barely seem to notice the cold, and it gets waaay below freezing here! I think you're probably doing them more harm than good with a heat lamp, really.
