What's this screeching noise my girl makes when she lays?

Some of mine make the same noise while on the nest if I come anywhere near. Some of my broodies do, too; others just growl quietly. As the broodies get accustomed to my checking on them, they do quiet down. I agree it's a "leave me alone, get outta here" noise.

Agree , I want eggs. Their doing their part leave them alone.I bring them treats & if ones laying I wait till she's done laying to serve the treats. Guess , I'm crazy but I wanna be fare. It's a give & take world.
