What's to candle the eggs for ????

Hi , I' m kind of new with chickens and incubators so I have some questions for you all : What's the candle for ? Or what do you look for in an egg ? Sorry if Im asking silly questions but again i only know that the chicken sits on the eggs and later dont know how long but you see momma chicken with her new babies

U candel them to see if fertile but on day 7,10,14,18 after incubating also to make sure u have no quitters after day 10.incubation on chickens is 21-23 days give or take.hope that helps u

You only do it to check to see if the eggs are developing. It's nice to get rid of the eggs that are duds before they explode.
