What's Up With Blue Cochins?

Out of my BLR Wyandottes, every single combed bird I've gotten this year is male.

All but two of my males have been blue.

Thanks for this info on Blues Blisschick and speckledhen!

I have a Standard Blue Cochin roo and a Standard Blue Cochin pullet I was wondering what I would get if they hatched out some eggs. I like that I will get a "Varitey Pack."

The great thing about breeding a blue black splash flock is that you get 3 colors without having to maintain separate pens.

Splash color has been recognized in silkies so you can show them.

I was just going to ask about this I assume it works with Silkies as well. Thanks, now if I can figure out how to save this for a later date lol

I right clicked with my mouse and saved to desktop, then I have a "poultry" folder on my desktop that I put it in. Only way I know how to save threads for future reference. Don't know if it will save the updated stuff though?

If someone else knows how to save this stuff for future reference, I am sure there would be many of us who would appreciate it.

Ok my next question is, how do you wind up with blue in the first place?? I know that Jersey Giants are only recognized in black and white. But some people have blues and splashes. How's it happen?

And, a dumber question, is blue actually just gray, or do the birds have irridescent blue in the feathers also?
