What's up with Henny Penny? Odd male?

This is Henny Penny, 7 months old and no eggs. Is she a he? No crowing or saddle feathers. Very stand offish. She is low man in the pecking order and I lost her only buddy to a hawk a month ago, cold weather too. All other hens even bantam cochin giving me 5 eggs a week. I'm not going to cull just want to know if there is something else i need to be doing it or if she is an odd male.

That is a pullet. Looks like an EE to me and they can be slow. From her comb I would think she would be at the point of lay in about a month. She may wait for warmer weather and longer days.

Agreed, pullet. My EE's are a rare bunch along with the rest of my group. They are all laying an egg a day without heat lamps or artificial light in New England weather. They just wont stop lol. No complaints from me. Being low man on the totem pole is often stressful which most likely causes the stand off nature. She should start up soon. Good luck!
