What's Up With This Chick?

This chick has super irregular feather patterns, we can't figure out why. none of the other hatchlings look like this- it's eating and drinking fine but it's feathers are obviously not developing. Any ideas?

Just losing fluff faster, then feathers can replace. Happens with slow to feather chickens sometimes.

She looks like a plant that could use a little Miracle Gro.

There are pin feathers amidst the down fluff. If it weren't for the down, I would be concerned about feather picking, but I think it's as you suspect. The chick is simply feathering out irregularly. She'll get all her feathers eventually.

I predict she isn't going to molt as an adult according to the rules. Seems there's always one needs to rock her own style.

Interesting, thank you for the insight. Just making sure its not a permanent/ hereditary thing. She's part of our 3rd generation hatched out and it's the first time we've seen it. Just...odd
